On March 31st, GAC held a press conference for the release of its 2021 annual report both online and offline. The conference was attended by, among others, GAC Chairman Zeng Qinghong, President Feng Xingya and Vice President/CFO Wang Dan, who discussed the development of GAC in front of media. Last year, GAC’s gross revenue reached approximately RMB 429.755 billion, with a YoY growth of 8.66%; the net profit attributable to the shareholders of the listed company was RMB 7.3 billion, with a YoY growth of nearly 23%. Meanwhile, to faithfully reward shareholders, GAC distributed a final dividend of RMB 1.7 for every 10 shares (tax-inclusive) to all shareholders. With the interim dividend payout counted, a total dividend of RMB 2.297 billion was distributed throughout the year. The Group achieved the production and sales of 2,138,100 vehicles and 2,144,400 vehicles respectively, with a growth of 5.08% and 4.92% YoY, respectively higher than the industry growth rate, and the domestic market share further increasing to 8.16%.
GAC Chairman Zeng Qinghong said at the conference that GAC performed particularly well in independent brand in 2021; while the sales of several new vehicle models were growing rapidly, the increasing technological strength also assisted GAC in significantly enhancing its product competitiveness, marketing force and brand power. At the same time, GAC’s joint venture brands also show a continuous upward trend. By continuously innovating product technology, GAC continuously enhances the comprehensive competitiveness of the entire group. Over the past year, GAC has continued to build an industrial “ecosphere”, and boosted the development of key techniques in the field of intelligent connectivity and new energy, promoting self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology, and making new breakthroughs in many technological domains. In the future, GAC will continue to pursue the road of transformation into “electrification, intelligent connectivity, digitalization and ride-sharing” and the path of technological innovation to open up a new future with science and technology at the core.
At the press conference, President Feng Xingya said, “GAC will launch a real pure electric supercar this year. It takes only 1.9 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. We are expecting to deliver the product to users at the end of this year or early next year. In addition, our self-developed intelligent driving assistance system NDA will be mass-produced this year, and it will support urban road scenarios in the future. Moreover, we will hold GAC Technology Week in the middle of the year to launch a series of industry-leading innovative technologies.”
