On January 15, local time, GAC R&D Center in Detroit was officially opened in Farmington Hills, Detroit's core industrial zone. Brian Connors, executive director of Michigan-China Innovation Center; Mike McCready, director of Auckland County Economic Development Board; Jim Yagley, general manager of Roush; Zhang Qingsong, executive committee member of GAC Group; Yu Jun, president of GAC Motor; Wang Qiujing, president of GAC R&D Center; Gu Huinan, president of GAC New Energy; and a number of media attended and witnessed the ceremony.
The Detroit R & D Center has a total construction area of more than 4500 square meters, with a number of laboratories and trial-production and test workshops. As one of the important strategic bases for the international layout of GAC R & D system, Detroit R & D Center is positioned to integrate high-quality international technical resources, strengthen the development of models in North American, and deeply fuse GAC R&D Center's product development and technological innovation system to support domestic R & D capabilities in the field of vehicle technology.
