2018 Overseas Recruitment Officially Launched, GAC Went to Europe to Recruit Overseas Talents

  On June 9, 2018, 2018 GAC Overseas Job Fair in Europe with the theme of “GAC Dream, Create the Future”, officially kicked off in Stuttgart, Germany, and GAC went to Munich, Germany on June 10. Over 500 people attended the two fairs, including Huang Chongling, consul of the Chinese Consulate General in Munich, leaders and guests of related industry associations, universities and student groups in Stuttgart and Munich. The next move would be Paris. This European recruitment is led by Chen Hanjun, vice president of GAC. A number of companies brought with them open positions, including GAC R&D Center, GAC Motor, GAC New Energy, GAC Component, GAC Business, GAC-SOFINCO and Urtrust Insurance. Together with vast overseas talents, they would discuss future development trend of the auto industry and the status quo and development blueprint of GAC. In addition, more than 100 premium positions would be provided, covering such sectors as new energy, intelligence& connectivity, styling, vehicle technology, parts development, financial insurance, big data, etc. According to the plan, 2018 GAC overseas recruitment will also access to North America in the second half of the year.

  Stuttgart, Munich and Paris have a long car-making history. They have gathered a number of internationally renowned car companies and related universities and research institutes, and accumulated a lot in the field of automotive technology such as new energy, engine, body design and core components. Through the early publicity, many overseas talents showed a strong interest in GAC. In the two German job fairs, there were 269 interviewees. 128 of them showed interests for further contact.

  GAC’s goal for the next phase: strive to strive to become a top 100 company in the world by 2017, the 30th anniversary of the Group’s establishment and become a world-class enterprise with global competitiveness by 2037, the 40th anniversary of the Group’s establishment. In order to achieve high-quality economic development and medium and long term planning blueprint, GAC will continue to promote revolution of quality, efficiency and driving force. In this process, talent is the key.


  During the National "Two Sessions" this year, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized when participating in the deliberation of the Guangdong delegation, “development is the first priority, talent is the first resource, and innovation is the first driving force”. GAC’s “13th Five-Year” talent strategy aims to attract, select and develop global talents, and build a global talent supply chain. Such move will help provide strong talent support for building a world-class enterprise with global competitiveness.

 

Zhang Fan, Vice President of GAC R&D Center, Shared his Personal Experience with GAC’s Independent Development after Leaving Mercedes-Benz at the Job Fair

 

  In recent years, GAC has accelerated the deployment of intelligent and connected NEVs, and given more input into new business patterns and modes of NEVs, autonomous driving, and shared vehicles. Besides, GAC are actively building a modern industrial system covering research and development, design, Internet+, business services, and financial insurance services. In April 2017, GAC commenced the construction of GAC’s Industrial Park for Intelligent and Connected NEVs with a total planned area of about 7500 mu(500 hectares) and a total investment of over 45 billion. Based on the R&D, sales and after-sales service of vehicles and key components, GAC will actively introduce outstanding upstream and downstream enterprises of intelligent and connected NEV industry chain, and finally form a whole industry chain open innovation ecosystem integrating smart life. It is estimated that the total output value of the industrial park will exceed 170 billion yuan, profits and taxes will exceed 42 billion yuan. Besides, more than 20,000 jobs will be created. 


  The first phase of the project, GAC New Energy Vehicle Plant will be completed by the end of the year. In addition, GAC Group continues to promote internationalization. Following the establishment of the GAC R&D Center in Silicon Valley in April 2017, the Advanced Design Center in Los Angeles was established in April 2018. GAC is poised to integrate outstanding overseas resources, build a top R&D team, and establish an important platform of the global R&D network. Currently, the Detroit Research and Development Center is also in the process of preparation.

  In order to obtain the talents needed to support the development of the enterprise, GAC attaches equal importance to internal training and talent recruitment, builds a sound internal training system, encourages everyone to participate in innovation, and formulates more market-oriented talent attraction assessment and incentive mechanism. With the rapid development of GAC’s independent brand, the independent intellectual property rights and core competitiveness have been continuously improved, and the talent team has also grown. When the GAC R&D Institute was established in 2006, there were only 30 or 40 engineers. By the end of 2017, that number mounted up to nearly 4,000. Apart from outstanding talents from almost ten countries and regions, there were technical elites with such titles of “Thousand Talents Program” of the Central Organization Department, “Thousand Talents Program of Overseas Experts”, and “China Automotive Industry Outstanding Scientific and Technological Talents”. In 2017, GAC Group also held large-scale overseas talent recruitment events in Silicon Valley, Detroit and Boston for the first time, attracting nearly 700 elites from cities in North America. Such move helped accumulate talents for the Group's innovation and development.
